🌼 oopsie daisy

this october, we’re partnering up with marc jacobs for the launch of their new daisy mist collection, and it sent us digging through our archives for an old favourite to bring back.

say hello to oopsie daisy, a familiar drink with a new name. if you've been following us for the past few seasons, you might know this drink as dog days. it was one of our earlier experiments with smoke, and a successful attempt at bringing the smoky character of whisky into a coffee without alcohol.

from whiskey to coffee

the original idea started at home, where we’d been having a little whisky and became really interested in the smoky flavour that comes from the charred barrels used to give the liquor its colour and flavour. we wanted to see if we could get that same kind of smoky flavour into a coffee without using any alcohol.

we start by macerating strawberries to draw out their natural flavours, then layer in fig leaf tea for its coconut and walnut notes, hibiscus for a touch of tartness, and our big short blend espresso.

next comes our cookie-infused milk, with a little acidity to help separate the mixture. once filtered, all the solids are removed, leaving us with a clear, pinkish clarified milk punch.

at the finishing bar, we use an electric smoker to infuse the drink with cherry wood smoke, giving it a warm, whisky-like aroma and taste. the cherry wood smoke hits first, followed by bright strawberry and coffee, with a soft, lingering sweetness from the cookie milk.

then from dog days to oopsie daisy

the original name came from the "dog days" of summer, traditionally associated with the rising of sirius, the dog star. the romans believed these were the hottest and most restless days of the year, when the heat, drought and general madness of summer were at their peak.

when we were tasked to give it a new name for the campaign, oopsie daisy felt like a pretty good fit for the bright and playful look of the launch. we’ve also added a dehydrated grapefruit garnish and a little bit of glitter to make it extra pretty.

the new collection

daisy mist is marc jacobs’ new collection of hair and body mists and is made to be sprayed generously throughout the day and layered however you like. there are four scents in the collection, each with its own mix of fruity, floral and gourmand notes.

oopsie daisy will be available exclusively at our beach road outlet for a limited time only until 20 october 2026. so come visit!

there’s also a marc jacobs daisy mist booth outside the cafe from 9 to 11 october, 2pm to 5pm, where you can experience the mists in person.
